This is an excerpt from part of a parole hearing that I found on Cielo's site. Sadly I cannot remember what year, but will find that info and post.
"When I went to the house with Tex (inaudible), I should have immediately left. I should have found a way and not gone over the fence and run down the hill. (Inaudible) me screaming. Because there was no doubt that I knew that what was ever going to happen here was not going to be good. I did know that that was, the plan was to murder two women inside the house. That was given, was a given."
Was she just mis-remembering things, making stuff up, trying to salve her conscience by taking a heightened sense of responsibility in the crimes' supposed pre-meditation?
Anybody know anything on the veracity of Krenwinkle's claims here??

I've read that before, and that she has also said Sharon wasn't supposed to be there that night. Can't have it both ways, doesn't make sense.

Anybody know anything on the veracity of Krenwinkle's claims here?? I have never heard any of them mention that they knew two women were home that night. Was it not generally accepted that Sharon was not expected to be there? I found it very odd that she mentions the women to the exclusion of the men. I was under the impression that they did not know how many people were there or who they were. Now, she tells us that she had prior knowledge of what was about to happen? Was Charlie more explicit in his instructions to Tex or did Tex fill in the crew on the way to Cielo? This was a new tidbit for me! Paints a different picture of Pat as well for me.

How could they possibly know who or how many would be there?

That's why I am questioning why Patricia would say that. And if there was some more clandestine reason for the murders--I doubt Pat would have been told--that outfit worked like the military--need to know only basis. Inless it was true and she heard about it AFTER the murders but before she got caught.
More than anything I want to know WHY she said that.....

I have seen on a talk show (youtube) where Sandy Good also said " Sharon wasn't supposed to be there that night! If true that negates the whole Helter Skelter theory.

One of her parole hearings, she said that she understood that they were going out on a robbery mission and Tex did not tell her that they were there to kill until they got past the fence and right before they killed Parent. Krenwinkel is about as credible as Tex when it comes to "the real story".

Yes I read that also in a parole hearing, nobody at that hearing picked up on it. She clearly stated the plan was to kill 2 women yet everyone in that room seemed to ignore the significance of those words- how strange is that.

The way I see it is she makes up things as she goes (or even recalls, but I do think she tries to feed them what they want to hear)... and you are right, but so much is said at parole hearings that is ignored. Ever read Grogan's PH where he is saying the reason Shorty was killed was because he caused the children to be taken, belongings confiscated, etc? Grogan was actually talking like he felt Shorty's murder was justified and no one even questioned that!

I think there are a few out there that have given up on the Helter Skelter motive....I for one still follow the drug deal gone bad theory...or if nothing else..a revenge angle...but HS...nahh...VB probably does not believe that either anymore...(although...he would never admit it)

How could they possibly know who or how many would be there? really the only wild card would be Jay...the others were staying there for a period of time...so...it would follow..that if they did not know Sharon was there...they would not have known Jay was there....since I doubt in any of his drug type dealing he worked out of Cielo...so that leaves VF....he was supposed to be there...and AF would be with him...but really if it was a drug burn with any thought (and the whole Sharon was not to be there that night thing)..there had to be some planning...and I dont see how they would have foreseen Jay being there....me thinks some people came to see VF and shit happened....just another theory for around the fire...(kind of lost my own track on thought on this one...phew)

Do you think VB ever did buy HS theory??? of course I don't know, I suppose it coulda been all Manson and his crazy race war idea, but I don't buy it either, and I think VB just did what he had to do to make sure they were all given life sentences. I think HS was only way he was going to take Manson down with the rest of them.

I think it was military only in the sense that it was a "need to know" basis!! And most 'members' didn't need to know much....

For argument's sake, it would logically have to be Sharon and Abigail. Manson knew Melcher & Bergen were living in Malibu. What other women resided there and would typically be there at midnight? Sharon and Abigail. Sharon had been back for two weeks, they could have found that out since it seems like a lot of people at Spahn knew what was going on at Cielo which in itself raises questions as to whether it was indeed a drug burn or rather something simmering for a while on the Melcher issue and finally brought to fruition. And why THAT night and THAT weekend? What triggered it in motion that particular weekend? Fact or fiction: was there, or was there not, a phone call from Spahn to Cielo that day? I read that somewhere and cannot figure out where. If so, was this a lead followed up by the police? Were phone calls traceable like that in 1969? Is this just something that was debunked as false? Anyone?

And it did. Tex will forever be the master killer yet Charlie is the face and Tex the "follower". Uh huh. He followed the knife with great relish.
